第5屆STAR會議將於6月27-28日在澳洲雪梨召開，APEC會員體之反恐專家、企業代表以及政府官員將受邀參加。

本次會議主題為「減緩風險：控制成本」（Mitigating Risks: Containing Costs），目的在於尋求具有成本效益的解決方式，以加強在APEC區域內人員移動以及貿易安全。會中將討論議題如下：

1. 最新的防禦工具與技術（latest tools and technology in security）
2. 公私部門合作之效率與範圍（effectiveness and scope for public-private sector partnership）
3. 貿易發展能力建構（capacity building in developing trading economies）
4. 貿易安全之未來趨勢（future directions for security of trade）

STAR會議提供了政府與企業間探討APEC區域內相關人員移動與貿易安全等議題之平台，企業界認為亞太區域需要一個穩定的環境，以鼓勵區域內的貿易與發展。
